Insulation is essential for mountain climbing and winter trail running. When made from natural, high-performance wool, it offers enhanced comfort with moisture-wicking and odor-resistant properties. We have upgraded from the conventional MERINO AIR HOODY to utilize NIKKE AXIO, a blended yarn of recycled polyester and wool, also featured in the Dry Wool T-Shirt. This yarn is crafted into a waste-free Whole Garment knit.

By adjusting the knitting structure while increasing the wool content, we have achieved a weight reduction of over 30%, bringing the M size down to just 265g from the previous 400g.

For high-intensity activities like running, it can be worn alone, while for hiking, it pairs perfectly as a base layer, providing ideal warmth and breathability.

• No seams, no waste

  Shima Seiki's WHOLEGARMENT proprietary technology produces entire pieces of knitwear without any seams. It eliminates the 30% fabric loss from cutting and sewing conventional knit products, significantly reducing yarn waste. Garments can also be produced in small batches, which minimizes possible waste from excess inventory.

• NIKKE AXIO

  HERENESS had paid attention to the functionality of NIKKE AXIO before its launch and had been considering commercializing it. However, we gave up using NIKKE AXIO because only virgin polyester was available at that time. We continued to ask for the filament to be made of recycled polyester, and with the cooperation of NIKKE, we were finally able to use NIKKE AXIO with recycled materials. We plan to continue expanding our line of wool x recycled polyester products using NIKKE AXIO.
